My Gut WARNED Me About Government Shutdown

“Listen to your intuition. It will tell you everything you need to know.” ~Anthony J. D’Angelo~

this past Monday (day before last camping trip of season) my gut prompted me to NOT go. It was like no other gut feeling I’ve ever had. I thought, why?! I muscle tested myself that day and the morning of, and both times weren’t a strong yes, but they also weren’t one of danger. I knew I had nothing to fear.

Tuesday (day of) following my weekly volunteer gig, I was an hour late in getting out of town. Once I hopped on freeway, I said aloud… I’m late for a reason. Driving to meet friend, and where my radio usually not get reception, I heard “all national parks closed due to government shutdown.”

I pulled off freeway and text friend asking to check ASAP, as I checked via cell, and he on computer and in calling ranger. All gave us a green light to go, so we went. First night, we were over charged, so we packed up and moved to a more secluded and beautiful area – one that would allow me to write for 3 days. Then lo’ and behold, a few hours into setting up and settling in, we were asked to camping-10-01-13leave. UGH!

So despite FOUR attempts to stop me, I ignored all of them. May my lesson serve to help you listen to your gut. If you’re not sure how, getting it clean will automatically show you how. Your mind may say one thing, but if your gut screams another, go with that. And to think when someone asks my opinion on something, I always say… what does your gut say. If only I had practiced what I’ve preached for years. Live and learn.

Almost forgot to mention how I know my gut is speaking (since I’m finding many are not sure). For me… it comes one of 3 ways:

  1. mostly it comes as a sudden thought, OUT OF NOWHERE, and more than once. This one prompts me to do something, go somewhere, or call someone.
  2. then there’s the true gut feeling, when my gut doesn’t feel right, an uneasy feeling. This one warns me to NOT do something.
  3. This last time on camping, it came as sudden wave of feeling over my body. Like a chill, but I wasn’t cold.

Less than 24 hours later while heading back, I decided to make the most of getting kicked out. I wasn’t about to become an uptight wall flower.  So we stopped for a childlike photo op instead!

**soon my days of gypsyhood (and working off cell or it’s hotspot) will be over. I long for better reception and more regular postings – until then, I post tid bits of healthful info almost daily on Facebook and LinkedIn.
