Eating Disorder or Parasites, or…?

By on June 3, 2013

“Eating Disorder is an illness that causes serious disturbances to your everyday diet, such as eating extremely small amounts of food or severely overeating.”  ~NIMH (NAtional Institute of Mental Health)~

Eating disorders, like addictions affect men, women and children of all ages, shapes, sizes and colors. While some hide it better than others, some children are practically born junk food junkies. In seeing this headline (photo) on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine, I peeked inside to see the story. It’s about a book, Obsessed, written by Cosmo career columnist and her struggle to stay a size 2 in between what she calls her eating disorder. A “Must Read?” Perhaps for some. Just know, there are many reasons why we overeat… being labeled as having a disorder, I highly doubt is the main one. Parasites, deficiencies, yearning for our parents (or someone), an unfulfilled life/self, and the beloved stress are more common/realistic reasons. This “When You Can’t Stop Thinking About Food” message, can be more than an eating disorder. This is one reason why there are many overweight malnourished people.

The body, let’s just say… may be plugged up with stuck on waste and unable to absorb nutrients. Plus, the so-called nutrients that eaters of fast processed foods believe to be eating, are often times addicting, fattening, and down right not satisfying (in the way the body needs). It’s not so much calories, but instead vitamins, minerals, and enzymes the body craves. Not a packaged laboratory experiment that tastes good. With real food, you can eat more and weigh less. Just as nutrients allow you to drink your meals for extended periods.

Parasites alone rob us of nutrients, and can keep us hungry. All. The. Time. An unbalanced meal can do the same. Too much white bread and carbs and you’re almost guaranteed a massive sweet tooth. Then there’s the emotions… in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), a craving for sweets could be a craving for the mother energy, while a craving for salt or spice could be a craving for father energy.  I get them all, but I’ve learned to ask myself if what I am about to eat will help me look and feel better or worse. This has worked for me and many others. So simple, yet so powerful.

And last but not least is… we crave what is in our blood – get that clean and the cravings go away. Though, like many addictions… one bite/try and we’re hooked. Just know it’s better to eat healthy most hours of the day and days of the week, than binge and starve. This type of emotional yo-yo- dieting wreaks havoc on your body, mind, and spirit, and will age you quickly (inside and out). Getting the blood clean starts with cleaning your bowel and liver, then kidneys. Like a dirty oil filter, our liver/organs must be cleaned to circulate clean blood – it is our oil. We must stop relying on doctors and some of their outrageous procedures, such as Preventative Mastectomy, Removal of Prostrates, and the latest I just read is, artificial livers. Re-engineering the body is not what nature intended. It is not a green light to abuse yourself. Stop with the quick fixes already. Respect for the engine that drives you will keep you running smoother and Clean’ Lean longer as you age gracefully.

Detox, does more than clean the body – it clears the mind and lightens the spirit. Just as one may eat out of control, the desire to not eat isn’t always a bad thing. Even animals know when to stop eating. With some Know How, fasting can be one of the best things you do for illness. It has been known to help with depression. A lil education goes a long way – it can also help prevent being diagnosed, prognosed, and all too often… overdosed! Refuse to be treated like a number.

To err is human, but to do it repeatedly is no fun.
